A hoedown throwdown at Bloor Station

It's Friday! And that means, amongst other things, that it's time to dance -- or at least to watch other people do so. But given that any video of me engaging in such activity would likely make people cringe or hit the floor with pity-based laughter (it has before), I'll instead share this clip of an impromptu hoedown at Bloor Station.

YouTube member, mikehoye, describes the scene as follows: "I got off the subway at Bloor and Yonge last night, and this is what I saw; some buskers with a fiddle and a banjo were playing, and these four other guys just started to pop it and lock it, apparently just for the hell of it. It cheered me right up."

There isn't much more to say than that. But, I will note that the I find the 2:30 minute mark particularly awesome (when the clapping begins). It's kind of also funny to watch the disinterested travellers pass by. I think I could always find at least a minute to take in a show like this!

Even though stuff like this surely happens in other cities, something about the whole thing feels oh-so-Toronto. And that is a very good thing.

Hat tip to @xoTO and ESchac who they credit with the find. And, of course, to mikehoye, who posted the video.
