Your morning news roundup for Thursday January 24th, 2008:

Possible TTC STATUS ALERT:
At 8:17am, 680News reports: "Service disruptions on the Bloor-Danforth subway line. There is no TTC subway service at Victoria Park station, in both directions between Warden and Woodbine, due to electrical problems. Shuttle buses are in service."
At 8:19am, the TTC official status page report: "There are no major disruptions at this time."

So whose info is quicker and more trustworthy: Rogers or the TTC?

UPDATE: At 8:41am, 680News reports: "Service resumes on Bloor-Danforth subway line. TTC subway service resumes at Victoria Park station, in both directions between Warden and Woodbine, after electrical problems."

[do the hustle]Burn, baby, burn, Durham inferno![/do the hustle] Durham region will be the first GTA municipality to erect a massive incinerator to burn garbage, generate power, and make our sunsets a little prettier. It's not expected to be up and running until 2024, which gives angry residents plenty of time to move.

I really hope they have video surveillance footage so they can identify and prosecute the asshole that scribbled racist graffiti at York University on Martin Luther King Day.

Buying a puppy at a flea market doesn't seem like a wise choice to me. One sold at Dr. Flea's has tested positive for rabies and another has died as well.

Wearing flip-flops or vinyl pants to work at city council in Vaughan may soon be against the rules. On Monday, they'll vote on establishing a work dress code that may have some councillors more pissed off than others.

Would splitting the Queen St. streetcar route into two separate routes be a significant improvement? The TTC is considering the possibility, and it seems like a no-brainer to me. Dooooo it!
