communal table toronto

You can eat at a huge communal table under a Toronto highway all summer

If you're tired of dining indoors after a brutal winter season, you might want to check out the huge communal table under the Gardiner Expressway that's set to serve up some of Toronto's best cuisines all summer long.

The Bentway's new summer season, "Beyond Concrete", includes a collection of artworks, performances, parties, and conversations from May 26 to Sept. 24.

The venue's one-of-a-kind al fresco dining experience, called Communal Table is a weekly dining program that offers food experiences served up by some of the city's most exciting culinary talents.

Come out with your friends (or make some new ones) at this family-style dinner on picnic tables every Thursday night starting on June 29. Tickets for the Communal Table dinners go on sale on May 16.

In the past, the dining experience has featured Filipino, Spanish, Tibetan, and Mexican cuisine through three-course meals.

If you prefer to do something more active, Roller Skating with SUSO Skate is also returning to The Bentway starting on June 14, and will run every Wednesday to Sunday. Bookings for roller skating also open up on May 16.

The Bentway's opening night party takes place on Friday, May 26 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 250 Fort York Blvd. Tickets for the party are currently on sale for $23.
