Mayor David Miller and the G20 aftermath

Mayor David Miller delivered a press conference this morning, and took questions from the media about the many insanities the G20 brought to Toronto this weekend. Here's his message, summed up in one image (above).

In all seriousness...

Miller stated his unwavering support for Toronto Police services throughout the weekend. He encouraged people who feel that they've been wronged by police to file official complaints by established means.

He also reiterated his opinion that were the meeting held at Exhibition Place, Torontonians would not have been as severely inconvenienced and burdened by the G20 summit.

Although the Harper government has already stated that they won't give compensation to Toronto businesses for damages caused during the summit, Miller is committed to seeking compensation from the federal government.

He encourages Torontonians to "put this episode behind us" and get back to enjoying the city.

The G20 violence and chaos won't easily be forgotten, and going into Pride week celebrations won't be an easy transition for many who've been affected by what was an emotional and trying weekend.
