There are some tell-tale signs of summer in Ontario, and the beginning of strawberry picking season is definitely one of them. So, if "PYO berries" is on your summer bucket list and you're looking for strawberry picking farms near Toronto, keep reading.
During strawberry season, usually from mid-June to mid-July, farms across the province open their fields to visitors eager to fill baskets with sun-ripened strawberries straight from the source.
With that said, these pick-your-own strawberry farms near Toronto offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy one of Ontario's sweetest (and juciest) seasonal traditions.
Brooks Farms
Strawberry picking is officially underway at Brooks Farms, though the season is still in its early stages. Guests can currently pick using quart or two-litre baskets while the berries continue to ripen. The farm has also introduced a few changes to its PYO strawberry experience: all guests must pay in advance, and outside baskets are no longer permitted.

Big R' Apple Farm
While apples are the main attraction later in the year, summer belongs to strawberries at Big R' Apple Farm. Strawberry picking runs daily from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the farm states it only accepts cash for this experience.

Reesor's Market & Bakery
Reesor's kicks off its strawberry season on June 19. The farm recommends booking online in advance, as drop-ins can be difficult to accommodate during peak picking season. Online bookings also come with a discounted rate: a three-litre basket costs $16 when prepaid online, compared to $18 on-site.

Rock Garden Farms
Strawberry season has officially begun, according to the farm's Instagram post. After filling your basket in the fields, spend some time exploring the property, where you'll find baked goods and artisan breads made by Stefano, the farm's bread expert, who recently spent two months in France refining his sourdough skills.

Downey's Strawberry & Apple Farm
A longtime favourite in the GTA, Downey's is back with its fresh strawberry crop for the 2026 summer season. Prices start at $17 for a two-litre basket and go up to $51 for a six-litre pick. After harvesting your berries, explore the farm's petting zoo and farmers' market for even more seasonal offerings.

Rose Family Farm
Strawberries are now in season at Rose Family Farm, with pick-your-own available every weekend from Friday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free wagon rides take guests to and from the fields, adding to the already fun experience. Pre-picked berries cost $8 per quart, while PYO berries are $5 per quart. The farm is also offering a bonus: receive a free 10-pound bag of potatoes when you purchase one pre-picked flat (six quarts) or two baskets of PYO berries.

Andrew's Farm Market and Winery
Come for the berries and stay for the wine. Andrew's Farm Market and Winery combines strawberry picking with wine tasting, giving visitors the chance to sample a selection of wines after a sunny day out in the fields. The farm is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Robintide Farms
Known for its selection of fresh Ontario produce, Robintide Farms is also a favourite destination for strawberry picking. Visitors can explore more than 25 acres of fields featuring nine different strawberry varieties. The 2026 picking season officially begins on June 24.

Forsythe Family Farms
Forsythe Family Farms offers more than just strawberry picking. Visitors can enjoy a coffee on the patio, visit the farm animals, and then head into the fields to gather berries. Open Wednesday through Sunday, the farm's PYO strawberry season begins June 20.

Pingle's Farm Market
Light picking is currently available at Pingle's Farm Market. Strawberries are priced at $12 for two litres or $20 for four litres, with picking limits expected to increase as more berries ripen.
