Toronto getting new flight to country known for world-renowned cuisine

If you're looking to escape the bitter cold this winter and explore new countries, this upcoming flight route to South America from Toronto should be on your radar.

Air Canada is boosting its presence in the southern hemisphere by launching a new direct flight route between Toronto and Lima, Peru, starting in December 2025. This marks the airline's return to Peru after suspending service back in March 2023.

Previously, Air Canada operated seasonal flights from both Toronto and Montreal to Lima during the 2022/23 South American summer.

Starting Dec. 5, 2025, you can fly nonstop from Toronto Pearson Airport to Lima's Jorge Chávez International Airport twice weekly. Flights will depart Toronto on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:10 p.m. (arriving in Lima at 5:10 a.m. the next day), and return flights from Lima will depart on Thursdays and Sundays at 8 a.m. (arriving in Toronto at 3:33 p.m.).

Each flight lasts approximately eight hours and will be operated by Air Canada's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which offers 255 seats across signature class, premium economy, and economy.

Lima, Peru's capital, is a vibrant tourist destination known for its rich cultural architecture and world-renowned gastronomy. The city's historic centre, which is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features landmarks like the Monastery of San Francisco, Plaza Mayor, and the Grand Cathedral of Lima.

One of Peru's most iconic landmarks, Machu Picchu, is accessible from Lima via a domestic flight to Cusco. Often called the "Lost City of the Incas," this 15th-century citadel nestled in the Andes Mountains draws millions of visitors every year and is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Flights to Lima via Air Canada are now available and can be booked online.
