Toronto Blue Jays manager Schneider blows up at umpire in nose-to-nose outburst

It's been a frustrating start to the season for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Heading into Tuesday, they had lost five games in a row, which included a 14-2 drubbing in Monday's World Series rematch against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Their pitching staff was decimated with injuries. The flu bug was running rampant through the clubhouse.

So when Kevin Gausman was called for a balk in the fifth inning of Tuesday's game, you could understand why Blue Jays manager John Schneider would be unhappy about it.

With a runner on first and the Blue Jays trailing 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning, the umpire called Gausman for a balk, which resulted in the runner moving to second base.

Schneider came out of the dugout to speak with the umpire. The conversation seemed civil until the ump suddenly tossed the Blue Jays manager from the game.

That's when Schneider lost his temper, laying into the umpire in an epic nose-to-nose confrontation. When he was done yelling, Schneider walked back to the dugout to a standing ovation from Blue Jays fans.

Hopefully, for the Blue Jays' sake, this sparks them. They need something to go their way.
