Toronto Blue Jays one win away from trip to World Series and here's what Vladdy said

The Toronto Blue Jays are still alive.

Facing off in one of the biggest games — if not the biggest game — in over three decades for the franchise, the Blue Jays willed themselves on to 6-2 win to push the American League Championship Series to a winner-take-all Game 7 against the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.

It's just the second Game 7 in Blue Jays history, and the first since 1985. It has also been 32 years since they've been in this situation: one win away from a trip to the World Series.

"I born ready. And I want it all for this city," Vladimir Guerrero Jr. said when asked by Sportsnet's Hazel Mae if he was ready for Game 7.

If this does not give you goosebumps, then I don’t know what else to tell you.

"All the guys come here and try to win it all. And to us, it's like one game at a time, one at-bat at a time. Tomorrow we're trying to come and win it."

The Blue Jays got a bit of help from the long ball on Sunday night.

Addison Barger hit a two-run home run in the third inning and Guerrero hit a solo shot in the fifth that was his sixth of both this year's postseason and his playoff career, tying him with Joe Carter and Jose Bautista for the most in franchise history.

Bautista himself was in attendance for the game, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch on his 45th birthday and receiving multiple cheers throughout the contest on the jumbotron.

Road teams had won four of the first five games in the series, with the only victory for a home squad coming in Seattle's 6-2 win in Game 5 on Friday night.

When is Game 7 of Blue Jays-Mariners?

Shane Bieber is expected to get the ball for Toronto, though the Blue Jays will likely be using an all-hands-on-deck approach that could include relief appearances from starters like Kevin Gausman or Max Scherzer.

Toronto is seeking its first appearance in the World Series since back-to-back title wins in 1992 and 1993, while Seattle has never advanced to the World Series.

First pitch is set in Toronto for 8:08 p.m. EDT on Monday night.
