Zero PING Courts the Grrl Gamer with Lanapalooza 3

God bless our fair city. It's as if its love of video games increases daily in accordance with my nightly prayers. There is a god, and her name is Samus Aran.

Zero PING is bringing the pain to the 905's Aurora Community Center with a 51 hour LAN party inside the hockey arena, starting Friday July 6th at noon right through to Sunday July 8th at 3pm. There's a monster sized list of games and tournaments happening with everything from Space Invaders (benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society) through to Guitar Hero (benefiting your arpeggio skills), along with a great many cash prizes for all you flag capturers numbering in the thousands of dollars.

Best part; Zero PING is calling it a 'ladies night' as grrls can take part in all events for the low price of zero dollah. Videos et beaucoup d'information await your soon to be bleeding eyeballs after the fold.

So what will you be playing and what's the cake if you win? Detailed info awaits you on Zero PING's site as well as their Facecrack Event Page, but the executive summary is as follows: Counterstrike (1.6 and Source), Warcraft 3 (DOTA and Frozen Throne), Starcraft Broodwars, UT2K4 (my old poison), Quake 4, Carmageddon 2, Scorched 3D, Halo CE and 2, Guitar Hero, Project Gotham 3 and the physics ridden Dead or Alive 4.

Prizes range from the universal favourite known as cash to hardware prizes; sponsors range from the pants ruining Alienware and PCI-E slot melting NVIDIA and their SLI line of cards, to the fret shredder inspiring Ant Commandos.
