According to realtor Shea Warrington, 8 Fallingbrook Wood was once part of the King estate, a larger property anchored by a historic modern home at 6 Fallingbrook Wood.

The estate was eventually divided into three lots. One new home was built where the original property's pool once stood, the historic house at No. 6 was rebuilt, and the previously vacant third lot became No. 8.

Warrington told blogTO that No. 8 was specifically designed to complement the house next door, which helps explain its distinctive modern aesthetic.

The exterior was a collaboration between Contempo Studio Architects and Blasi Consulting, while current owner Frank Blasi of Blasi Consulting was also responsible for the home's interior and landscape design.
