$3.5 million Ontario home built to look like a ship's anchor

There aren't many suburban houses in Ontario that stand out from the cookie-cutter copy-and-paste replicas.

But I can say with almost complete confidence, there is no house in Mississauga that looks like 1352 Nocturne Crt.

According to realtor Michael Phinney, the home was built by the late Harold Shipp — a developer who, fittingly, had the home designed to play off his own last name.

And in this case, that meant designing the entire property to resemble a ship's anchor. Which, honestly, makes way more sense once you see it from above.

From the ground, though, what you notice first is just how bold it is. The curved lines, expansive glass, and sculptural form feel more like something you'd expect to find in a design magazine than tucked into a quiet pocket of Lorne Park.
