Canada's next tallest building just crossed the 100-floor mark in Toronto

Toronto's race to the skies reached new heights last week, when a skyline-transforming mega-tower became the first building in the country to reach 100 floors.

The sky-scraping Pinnacle SkyTower is rapidly closing in on a final 106-storey height, and will soon lay claim to the title of Canada's tallest building with an immense height of almost 352 metres — as tall as the CN Tower's main observation level.

With the tower now above the 300-metre mark, becoming Canada's second "supertall" skyscraper, developer Pinnacle International hosted media atop the new landmark on Friday to mark a ceremonial concrete pour for the building's 100th floor — a momentous milestone for towering condominium development.

"We are pleased to celebrate Pinnacle SkyTower reaching 100 storeys," said Michael De Cotiis, President & CEO at Pinnacle International. De Cotiis hails the new building as "a landmark, one that is making history not only for Toronto, but for all of Canada."

SkyTower is expected to reach its final height in early 2026, and has already overtaken the 85-storey One Bloor West (which reached its final height of almost 309 metres earlier this year) as Canada's tallest building.

While SkyTower will soon become Canada's tallest building (buildings being classified by successively habitable floors) and only exceeded by non-habitable structures like the CN Tower in Toronto and the soon-to-be-demolished Inco Superstack in Sudbury.

The completed tower will house 958 new homes, the new Le Meridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel, and other impressive features like a restaurant perched on the top floor rivalling the views of CN Tower's 360 Restaurant.

"Residents and guests will live, gather, and dine at Pinnacle One Yonge, and we look forward to inviting the world to experience everything we will be offering, including the restaurant on the 106th floor," said De Cotiis.

And while it will undoubtedly be enjoyed by residents and visitors, the tower also serves as a monumental contribution to Toronto's rapidly evolving skyline.
