8 Humbert Street Toronto

The 'vibiest house' in Toronto with an iconic mural just hit the market for $1.5 million

Everyone knows that Trinity Bellwoods is one of the coolest neighbourhoods to live in, but to claim to be the "vibiest house, in the vibiest location" is bold.

And yet, the claim rings true for 8 Humber St.

Located in the heart of Ossington, this four-bedroom, four-bathroom Victorian semi-detached house is beyond cool.

The Jerry Rug mural.

First off, it has a custom Jerry Rugg aka birdO mural on the entire west facade of the house. The iconic mural has just recently been restored, which makes this house stand out even more.

And that's just the exterior.

As you enter the house, you're greeted by a newly renovated house.

The open concept main floor has soaring ceilings, exposed brick and a Scandinavian-inspired kitchen.

A bedroom.

The second floor boasts three bedrooms and a three-piece bathroom.

Another bedroom.

Each room is "vibey" in its own right.

The third floor is a loft-style primary bedroom with a walk-in closet and three-piece bathroom.

The rooftop patio.

It also boasts a rooftop patio with skyline views, allowing you to enjoy the neighbourhood with complete privacy.

But if you want to cut out the associated sounds of Ossington, realtor Lesli Gaynor tells blogTO that the house is totally soundproofed.

A home office.

"You don't hear any of the noise from the Ossington," she said.

The basement bedroom.

There's more living space in the basement of 8 Humbert St. with an extra bedroom, three-piece bathroom and family room.

"It is perfectly set up for short-term Airbnb rental," explained Gaynor, adding that while there's no kitchen, there's a separate entrance and the prime location makes it an ideal revenue generator.

A little bar area.

"In that neighbourhood, it would be booked solid," added broker Leonard Fridman, who specializes in multiplex properties and income-generating properties.

The backyard.

The only downside is that right now, there's no real outdoor space.

The parking spot and storage unit.

What would be the backyard is currently occupied by a spacious 10 by 10 foot storage unit and the only parking spot.

The kitchen.

But Gaynor points out that you could transform the space into a backyard if you decide you don't need storage or parking; you are in the heart of Ossington, after all.

8 Humbert St. has just been re-listed for $1,499,999, after dropping its price from $2,199,000

Or if you want to look at it another way, as Fridman jokes, it's $1.5 million for the original Rugg mural and the house is free.
