Hudson's Bay location in Ontario would be torn down for huge 11-tower development

An Ontario mall anchored by a recently shuttered Hudson's Bay location will be totally demolished to make way for an enormous new community with 11 towers.

Pre-application plans revealed in April highlight plans to redevelop a portion of the Burlington Centre mall lands at 777 Guelph Line, just the latest in a series of planned and active mall redevelopments reshaping the region's retail landscape.

A numbered corporation has submitted plans that would see the mall's former Hudson's Bay location and an Active Green + Ross service centre razed and replaced by a collection of high-rise towers centred around a new public park.

The Turner Fleischer Architects-designed community would create its own localized skyline on the north side of Prospect Street at Dynes Road, with the proposed buildings ranging in height from 23 up to 37 storeys.

A whopping 3,476 residential units are planned across the site, along with almost 7,280 square metres of new retail space.

Concept plans include a proposed park measuring 4,582 square metres, exceeding the mandatory 10 per cent minimum site area parkland contribution.
