82 Superior Ave. Toronto

Century-old Toronto home with all its original features is going for under $1 million

So many houses these days are boring builder grade homes that all kind of look like they were built in The Sims with very little imagination or at least without using the "rosebud" cheat code.

There's nothing wrong with them per se, but "builder grade" houses lack unique architectural features, have basic, standardized designs, and use inexpensive, generic materials.

In short, they're repetitive and uninspired.82 Superior Ave. Toronto

The living room.

But not 82 Superior Ave.

The dining room.

This 100-year old house, while small, packs a punch of charm and character and has us thinking, "They just don't make them like they used to".

One of two-bedrooms.

Featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms, this post-war bungalow has tons of original architectural features, built-ins you'd never find in any new build and a real wood-burning fireplace.

Original fireplace and wood moulding and millwork.

As you walk in the home, you're right in the living room, which has hardwood floors, lots of natural light and a cozy fireplace.

The built-in china cabinet.

The living room leads into the dining room with wood wainscotting and a built-in china cabinet with leaded glass doors. Inset mirrors also help make the space feel bigger than it is.

The kitchen.

At the back of the house, you have the kitchen. It looks like it hasn't really been updated since the home was built. Although the appliances look like they're from the late 20th century.

The primary bedroom.

On the main floor of the house, there are also two bedrooms and one bathroom.

An additional bedroom in the basement.

The basement is finished and adds another bedroom and bathroom.

The recreation room in the basement.

The basement is a true time capsule with wood panelled walls, linoleum floors and those drop ceiling tiles.

82 Superior Ave. Toronto

A second kitchen in the basement.

It also has a second kitchen, so there is potential to turn the basement into an income suite. 82 Superior Ave. Toronto

The backyard.

It's such a cute little house, albeit definitely dated, but it's listed for only $888,888.

A bathroom.

And for a detached house in this neighbourhood that's a steal when the average house sells for $1.7 million

82 Superior Ave. Toronto

The detached garage.

But since it's on a decently wide 40 by 88 foot lot, it will likely be knocked down and turned into yet another builder grade house in Mimico... and that's kinda a shame.
