Rental of the week: 155 Lamb Avenue

When I looked up the address on Google, it said this is an “Empath School for Arts and Magic”... And yet it doesn’t look like Hogwarts. Or, maybe this is just what it looks like to muggles because of some spells and magic hiding its true form?

Joking aside, the school actually seems really awesome. It is — according to their Facebook page — an "arts programming and community for trauma survivors, neurodivergents, and sensitive creatures with big big feelings".

155 lamb ave torontoThe apartment, however, is not that awesome.

155 lamb ave torontoThe inside looks remarkably similar to my high school home economics classroom, complete with the particle board roof tiles and the laminate floor that you could scuff up with your sneakers.

While this place has a stove, a fridge, and toilet, the rest is kind of up in the air as to whether or not it exists. For example, is there a shower? No idea!

155 lamb ave torontoMaybe the shower is that one that was in the schools science labs where you were supposed to rinse chemicals off you, or maybe it's an open concept shower like the gym locker room has. Either option doesn't seem ideal.

And because this is an old classroom, there is a severe lack of storage space apart from the hodgepodge cupboards. Fingers crossed there's cubbies where you can hang your coat!

155 lamb ave torontoI know living in old churches and warehouses is super trendy, but an old school that still looks exactly like a classroom? For $1,475? I think I'd rather drop out.
