Two Canadian figure skating legends will be gliding into Toronto this week

Figure skating fans have a chance to live out their dreams of seeing some of the sport's legends live on the ice this weekend at Nathan Phillips Square.

The Ridley College Figure Skating Showcase in Toronto offers spectators the chance to watch a training session featuring volunteer skaters.

The free event will also feature special performances by former Canadian Olympians and World Champions Kurt Browning and Elvis Stojko, both of whom are part of Ridley College's coaching roster.

The demonstration will run for half an hour on Mar. 1 at 12 p.m., followed by an opportunity for attendees to skate on the community rink and meet the legends from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

For those unfamiliar, Kurt Browning is a four-time World Champion and six-time Canadian National Champion, renowned for being the first skater to land a ratified quadruple jump in competition.

Elvis Stojko is a three-time World Champion, seven-time Canadian Champion, and two-time Olympic silver medalist known for his high-flying style and for pushing technical boundaries in men's figure skating.

Toronto fans will have the chance to see these iconic figure skaters up close at Nathan Phillips Square, located at 100 Queen St. W.
