It's safe to say that some Toronto streets are among the best places to see holiday lights in the city. Sure, there are the large light installations backed by big corporations and the City itself, but the massive displays created by local residents in their own yards are often the most impressive.
Certain pockets around town have become must-sees during the festive season. Twinkling lights, incredible displays, and winter-wonderland vibes take over for much of the winter, drawing locals who return year after year for some holiday cheer.
Here are five Toronto streets you'll want to check out if you're looking for iconic holiday light displays this year.
One house on this street in the Malvern area is famous for its epic display featuring lit-up reindeer, Santas, Snoopy, the Grinch, and just about everything in between. The spread covers the entire yard and is a true spectacle for light-lovers.
This display is located at 67 Stanwell Dr.
The De Sario family has hosted its own Festival of Lights for over 25 years right at home, in the Northwood Park area. Their display features more than 50,000 LED lights, along with inflatables and decor that capture the attention of passersby, and help raise money for a good cause.
The De Sarios accept donations to the SickKids Foundation, a tradition they began after their daughter was treated for juvenile diabetes. The festival runs Dec. 2 to Jan. 6, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
The De Sario family home is located at 165 Benjamin Boake Trail.
Another Malvern neighbourhood staple, this street has become something of a tourist attraction, with hundreds visiting to walk the special pathway set up between two houses at 226 and 228 Brenyon Way.
The Doucette family has put on an award-winning front-yard display on Garthwood Dr. for more than 35 years. Neighbours call them the "Griswolds of Garthwood Dr.," saying their decor could give National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation's (1987) Clark Griswold some serious competition.
This display is located at 24 Garthwood Dr. in the Kennedy Park neighbourhood.
The light display on this Wychword region street is said to illuminate the entire neighbourhood, and it's easy to believe. The Somerset House's epic setup even includes a light tunnel that guests can walk through for a full light-festival experience. This display is located at 6 Somerset Ave.
With the festive season is full swing, now is the perfect time to go and check these light spectacles in local Toronto neighbourhoods for yourself.
