COMEDY | Toronto Sketch Fest - "Young Drunk Punk"
As part of The 8th Annual Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, which is currently in full swing, a special show happens tonight as part of the festival's Headliner Series. Young Drunk Punk is a solo show starring the very awesome Bruce McCulloch of Kids In The Hall fame. This show is promised to be a combination of standup, music and poetry, and tells the story of McCulloch's journey from a "drunk punk" in his hometown of Edmonton to his current life in Hollywood. As a special bonus, musical accompaniment will be provided by Brian Connelly of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet. Should be a good one!
Randolph Theatre (736 Bathurst Street) 8PM $30-40

MUSIC | Elvis Monday
There are some Mondays, where you really appreciate that Elvis Monday is still alive and kicking, and doing their thing for Toronto's independent music scene. This might just be one of those Mondays. Tonight, TO's longest running underground and alternative music showcase comes through yet again with a solid lineup. Jack The Lads, the very eclectic Seamus Erksine, Kilometer, and Elliot Shulman take the stage. The fun begins at 9pm, and as always, there is no cover. Head out tonight and support local music!
The Drake Hotel (1150 Queen Street West) 9PM

OUTDOORS | Green Thumb Series: Start Your Backyard Garden: Organic & Biodynamic
There is nothing more rewarding that growing your own food, and all of the "pundits" are saying that urban farming is the way things are going for the future. It is also a wonderful thing to make the most of all of the potentially green space where you reside. Tonight, Brendan Ferguson, who has managed the Niagara Herb Farm, hosts an urban gardening workshop that will give you the pertinent info you need to make this happen. Both traditional approaches and organic and biodynamic practices will be covered. If you've been thinking of getting started on "growing your own" this event comes at a perfect time to get you going for the coming season.
