Your childhood is coming to town: 1980s CBC television personality Fred Penner plays to a crowd of kids who grew up watching him on "Fred Penner's Place" tonight at The Garrison. Joined by local folk rock band Inlet Sound, and Kitchener roots and folk musician Richard Garvey, Penner will play a one-night-only engagement of folk tunes--not limited only to children's music. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.

MARKET | eBay Holiday Market
Outdoor mobile shopping is the way of the future and eBay Canada is starting the trend. The eBay holiday market lands at Bloor Street and Avenue Road this Thursday evening to capture the seasonal shopping crowds and give them a mobile shopping experience. Festive food and drinks will be available as marketgoers check out items from now until late Saturday night.

FOOD | Gourmet Food & Wine Expo
Drinkers, warn your livers. Foodies, prepare your palates. The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo opens tonight with a VIP preview evening at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. This year's show will feature appearances by celebrity chef Andrea Nicholson (Top Chef Canada), a Friday evening Gourmet Gala and a Fine Wine Tasting Lounge with over 100 wines. Hundreds of wines and gourmet foods will be exhibited until the show closes Sunday. Tickets available through foodandwineexpo.ca.

HOLIDAY | Toronto Eaton Centre's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 2012
It's the time of year to get lit up like a Christmas tree! Jeanne Beker hosts the lighting of the Toronto Eaton Centre 50-foot tree this Thursday in an early evening ceremony. Complete with musical performances by pop and R&B singer Kreesha Turner and participants from the Urban Mic program, the tree lighting ceremony will commence at a quarter to six, signaling the beginning of the holiday shopping season at the Eaton Centre. Join in the festivities, and get lit.
