Radar: Noise Cooking, 360 Screenings, Buck 65 with Ame Henderson, The Brooks Dog Agency, My Morning Jacket, Acoustic Night at The Central

ART | Opening Reception for: Noise Cooking
The Art Gallery of Ontario presents "Noise Cooking," a special collaboration between TO musician and chef Lisa Myers, and Autumn Chacon, a performance artist and writer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. This team first collaborated as part of a Banff Centre residency, where Myers would cook, with her mise and utensils wired for sound, while Chacon would direct the filming of the culinary work. This project has developed into an ongoing sound and video series that explores culture, sound, and movement through the act of cooking. This event is part of the ongoing Planet Indigenus Festival, which carries on until August 19th. Tonight is the opening reception for "Sound Cooking," which will be at the AGO until October 28th.
Art Gallery of Ontario (317 Dundas Street West) 7PM

FILM | 360 Screenings
360 Screenings is a truly original screening concept. This event expands upon the normal routine of going to see a film by adding several unique dimensions to the experience. First, the film to be shown on a particular evening is not disclosed - it is a secret, and only the rating of the film is revealed. Secondly, the location of the screening is not shared until 24 hours before the show, and the venue is carefully chosen for each film and somehow relates thematically to the storyline: Toronto heritage buildings, fields, lofts - any location is possible. If your moviegoing experiences have seemed a tad mundane lately, this is definitely an event worth considering.
The Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District, 7PM $40

MUSIC | SummerWorks Presents: Buck 65 with Ame Henderson
Canada's own Buck 65 (aka. Rich Terfry) performs tonight in an interesting concert event put together by Summerworks. Buck 65 is a seasoned musician who has developed his sound over two decades of performances, evolving from a more raw hip hop format into what has become an eclectic, folk-oriented form of expression. He'll be joined by Ame Henderson, a TO based performer who uses dance and movement to collaborate with many different types of artists. DJ Frank Waxman will also be in the house tonight.
The Theatre Centre (1087 Queen Street West) 9:30PM $20

COMEDY | The Brooks Dog Agency at Pilot Week
The third annual Pilot Week is all about the ongoing search for the next great television comedy, and tonight at The Comedy Bar, you can check out what could very well be a genuine contender, The Brooks Dog Agency. This show concept revolves around a pair of spacey siblings who inherit an agency that manages celebrity canines. There's even a romantic subplot (a classic feature of comedies) to keep things interesting. Could a cast of hilarious and talented professionals will convince you that this is the next big thing? Tonight you can be the judge.
