MUSIC | Gomez + Quiet Corral @ The Mod Club
The UK's Gomez return to Toronto and hit up the Mod Club tonight. This is a unique band, who have been around for 15 years and have a body of musical work that is truly eclectic and defies easy categorization. They are indeed a rock band, but one whose sound, instrumentation and approach is very unpredictable, and this is certainly one of their great strengths, and has no doubt played a part in their longevity. Their most recent release was Whatever's On Your Mind, which dropped last summer. They are joined on the bill by Quiet Corral.

Laughs are a definite requirement on Mondays, are they not? Unless you're on vacation, the weekend seems like a distant reality, and Monday doesn't even have a nickname like "Hump day" to make you giggle to yourself - so, some help is in order. The Comedy Bar is the place to go - stand-up can cure the Monday blahs, and a team of professionals awaits you! Toronto comics Matt O'Brien, Nick Carter, Anto Chan, Graham Kay, and headliner Dom Pare will deliver what we all know is the best medicine.

MUSIC | Coldplay at Toronto, Air Canada Centre
Coldplay begin what should be a well-attended two-night run at the ACC this evening. Tonight's show is part of the band's tour for the release Mylo Xyloto, their fifth studio album, which found them working with almost exactly the same production team as on their previous effort, Viva la Vida. This album was a bit of a departure for the group, veering into 'electronic' territory, that was a bit controversial with their fanbase, but despite the 'feather ruffling', Mylo Xyloto has sold more than 6 million copies globally! They are joined on the bill tonight by Marina & the Diamonds and Emeli Sande.

GAMES | QL Trivia & Pub Night
After the reported success of the inaugural Queer Liberal Pub & Trivia Night, this event is back! Tonight at The Sister on Queen West, trivia teams will converge to battle it out over tonight's theme: "The Socio-Political-International-Ceremonial-Vexilloligical-Pageantry of the High Festival of a World Culture." It's a good thing that The Sister has a large beer menu and great food to help keep up everyone's strength and morale through this intense competition. Kelly Foote will be the host of tonight's event.
