Radar: A New York State of Mind, Munk, Sacred Texts, Elvis Monday, The Toronto Rhythm Initiative, Short & Sweet, Little Scream

CULTURE | Spontaneity: A New York State Of Mind
This event is a collaboration between Luminato and the AGO, presenting a multidisciplinary celebration of the creative culture of New York in the 1950s. Ticketholders for this event will first have the opportunity to check out the AGO's exhibit "Abstract Expressionist New York: Masterpieces from the Museum of Modern Art," which contains over 100 era-defining works from greats such as Pollock, Gorky, de Kooning, and others. Immediately following the exhibition viewing will be a series of performances in Baillie Court featuring jazz, beat poetry, experimental music, and short films.

MUSIC | Munk at Wrongbar
Munk aka. Mathias Modica, Gomma label co-founder, DJ, and producer hits Wrongbar tonight. Munk is currently on a big tour that finds him bewteen Paris, LA, Mexico, and tonight is TO's turn! Perhaps best known for his single "Kick Out The Chairs!" which featured LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy on vocals, Munk's appearances can take the form of a DJ set, live band, and other configurations. Tonight at Wrongbar he will be doing a DJ set that should have everyone moving, and you will likely hear his new single "Mis Labios," which is making some waves wherever he spins.

LITERATURE | Sacred Texts: The New Yorker at Luminato
The New Yorker and Luminato have teamed up for several events at this years festival, and continue this evening with a great discussion among several prominent contemporary writers, moderated by New Yorker fiction editor Deborah Treisman. Participating authors include Guggenheim Fellowship recipient Chris Adrian, Allegra Goodman, author of "The Cookbook Collector," and Irish novelist Colm T贸ib铆n, who recently received the 2011 Irish PEN Award, and is slated to become the University of Manchester's new professor of creative writing.

MUSIC | Elvis Monday
The week has begun, and you're already feeling that tinge of withdrawl from the Rock rush that made your weekend... Good news: Elvis Monday will get you back there tonight! Known for well over two decades as the most reliable source of up and coming bands with the sounds you need to hear on 11, tonight's lineup will be no exception! In the house this eve are Moon King, In Plain View, Monokino, The Star Department, 5 Aces, and Belleau Woods.
