ART | Kai Chan: A Spider's Logic
Kai Chan's work has been featured at exhibitions internationally. This show, billed as a "35-year retrospective," will provide a great view of the artist's work. Chan is known as a "master of the unremarkable", using materials from everyday life, such as branches, buttons, and other varied items, both from nature and the household, to create captivating works. Chan himself has expressed that his search for new materials outside of those traditional to "mainstream art," is a result of his dissatisfaction with those traditional materials as a means of expressing the multitude of "meanings" found in contemporary society, and the world in which he lives.
