Radar: Wintergaze Festival, HoHoTO, The PB and J Inclusive Special Sketchprov Show, Maryanna Hardy's So I've Been Told, Will Munro's Favourites

MUSIC | Memoryhouse, Foxes in Fiction & many more at Twist Gallery
Some may ask, what exactly does shoegaze music sound like? If you've asked yourself this question at least once, you should experience the Wintergaze Festival, happening tonight at the beautiful Twist Gallery thanks to Embrace and Gold Soundz. It will feature some of the best shoegaze bands in the province, including duo Memoryhouse, who sound similar to Beach House, but rejuvenated with softer hooks and melancholy notes. Other artists performing include Foxes in Fiction, Heartbeat Hotel and Volcano Playground.
Twist Gallery (1100 Queen Street West), 8pm $10 advance, $12 door

HOLIDAY | HoHoTO 2010
Growing out of a call to action made over Twitter, HoHoTO is a holiday party that supports Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank. With so many charity events put on to fundraise for global causes, as important as they are, it is refreshing to see such attention placed on philanthropy in our own backyard -- and even more important during the holiday season. HoHoTO has raised over $80,000 to date and hope raise the redline even further with tonight's party at the Mod Club.
The Mod Club (722 College Street), 7pm $35 and up

COMEDY | The PB and J Inclusive Holiday Special Sketchprov Show
Holiday festivities unite tonight for PB and J's festive edition of sketchprov. This troupe is known for producing a hilariously entertaining mix of sketches and improvisation, which fit together perfectly much like, well, PB and J. What better way to celebrate the holidays than with some laughter and cheer? Did we say cheer? We meant beer. If you haven't been lucky enough to catch a sketchprov show, Kensington Market is where you should be.
The Bread and Circus Theatre (299 Augusta Avenue), 9pm $5 with non-perishable donation

BOOK | Maryanna Hardy - "So I've Been Told" - Book Launch
Saskatchewan native, Maryanna Hardy is launching her new book So I've Been Told an exploratory narrative on people and their idiosyncrasies told, "through ink drawings, screen-printing, paintings and embroidery." Using her imagination, and a creative one at that, Hardy interprets her surroundings - the people, sights and sounds, and dusts them all with her personal and incredibly varied influences. Such raw talent should not be envied but celebrated. Come see for yourself at 107 Shaw.
107 Shaw Gallery (107 Shaw Street), 7pm Free

FILM | Early Monthly Segments #23 - Will Munro's Favourites
Early Monthly Segments is a monthly film screening, showcasing the best in avant-garde contemporary and era flicks. Tonight's edition is extra special as it is being held in honour of Will Munro, known for his initiative within the queer and underground cultures in Toronto. A victim of a two-year battle with cancer, he loved exploring and sharing his love for music, art and film in his own distinguished way. Tonight's homage to Munro will be a celebration of his life in the best way possible.
Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen Street West), 7:30pm $5-10 suggested donation
