Radar: LG Fashion Week, heARTS for Pakistan, Weakerthans film screening, BIXI 1000 members party

Fashion | LG Fashion Week
Fashion week gets underway today with a host of designers -- from the established to the up and coming -- showing off their Spring/Summer 2011 collections. The runway activity takes place at Heritage Court at Exhibition Place, but if you can't make it out, we'll have all the highlights covered off for you in our Fashion & Style section.
Heritage Court, Exhibition, 100 Princes' Boulevard, October 18-23

ART | heARTS for Pakistan
Art for a good cause - does that cheer that hearts of hopeless pragmatists who think creative endeavors are a waste of time? It should, and this certainly fits the bill: "heARTS for Pakistan is a silent art auction and fundraiser for survivors of the Pakistan floods. The event will take place on October 18, 2010 in Toronto with 100% of the proceeds going to the Humanitarian Coalition's flood relief efforts in Pakistan."
Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen West, $20-29, 6-10pm

MUSIC | We're the Weakerthans, We're From Winnipeg
Remember Hard Core Logo, that awesome Bruce McDonald tour movie with Hugh Dillon and Callum Kieth Rennie? Well, if you liked that one, you might just be a fan of the tour movie. We're the Weakerthans, We're from Winnipeg follows the band as they travel from St. John's to Whitehorse. What's in store? "Thoughtful reflection, oddball anecdotes and the strange mix of cramped quarters and vast scenic vistas over the unmistakable tones of The Weakerthans." Works for me. Oh, and the best part is that the band will be playing live at the screening.
The Royal, $15 advance, $18 at the door, 9:30pm

COMMUNITY | BIXI 1000 members party
Although they're not there quite yet -- 884 at last count -- it's beginning to look like BIXI Toronto will get the 1000 subscriptions it needs to become a reality. To celebrate that and to encourage more people joining up, there's a party at Stem Whistle Brewery tonight.
255 Bremner Blvd, Free with Bixi membership, 6:30pm
