Radar: Queen West Art Crawl, Hercules and Love Affair DJ Set, Cinesphere screening, Art openings on Ossington, Caribou after-show DJ set

ART FESTIVAL I Queen West Art Crawl
The Queen West art crawl returns with 250 artists displaying and selling their work. The theme for this year's show is "intersections," which will likely result in some intriguing multidisciplinary work (but is also vague enough to encourage almost anything). "Special 2010 programming includes Art Battle - thrilling, live competitive painting during the opening night gala at the Gladstone Hotel, the QWAC Symposium Series, The Parkdale Prom and the Parkdale Night Crawl."
Queen West between Bathurst and Roncesvalles (artist fair is in Trinity Bellwoods Park, Free, September 17-19

MUSIC I Hercules & Love Affair DJ Set
Pitchfork-approved Hercules and Love Affair will show off their turntable talents at Wrongbar this evening at Wrongbar, which, yes, does have a 4am extended licence for TIFF. They're joined by The Makeover and Filthy Gorgeous, which is what you'll be when you're out there dancing it up at 3am. Advance tickets available at Soundscapes, Rotate This and ticketweb.ca.
Wrongbar, 1279 Queen St. W., $15, 10pm

FILM I IMAX Africa and Everest
Definitely not a TIFF event, this might nevertheless offer some the movie-going experience they've been waiting for. The IMAX experience is pretty wild, particularly for those who haven't seen a film shot that way before. And, hey, this might be one of the last times you check out Ontario Place before everything changes.
Ontario Place Cinesphere, $15 (for both films), 6:30pm

GALLERY I Fictional Devices at AWOL and Parts of a hole at XPACE
What symmetry! Two galleries on Ossignton with block letter names are hosting openings tonight. Over at AWOL, "Leanne Davies explores the contrast between the factual and the fantastic that combine to form our memories." While XPACE presents "a collection of sculptural work by eight local and international emerging artists whose practice examines the legacy and theory surrounding the ready-made through notions of authorship, craft and functionality."
AWOL Gallery (76 Ossington Ave) and XPACE 58 Ossington Ave), Free, both start at 7pm

MUSIC I Caribou (DJ Set) with DJ Pammm
Not into Hercules and Love Affair? How about homegrown talent Caribou (aka Dan Snaith). Caribou will have just performed at the Phoenix, but this post-concert DJ set might be a great way to catch the performer if you missed out on tickets to the first show. Sure, it won't be quite the same, but I get the sense that this guy is probably a pretty good DJ.
