Woven Memories: International Overdose Awareness Day

Join the Harm Reduction Advocacy Collective in love and rage as we gather with community at Trinity Bellwoods Park near the "We Miss You, Still" Installation (by the tennis courts at the southeast area of the park)

Together we will add purple ties to the We Miss You, Still Installation for those we lost this year to the toxic drug poisoning crisis, join in art making to decorate naloxone cases for a patchwork art installation piece, share in a community discussion to launch a grief memorial quilt making project, provide OD Response training and access to harm reduction supplies and share food.

Schedule:

2-5 PM: Drop in anytime for Grief Support Tent, OD Response Training, Naloxone Kit Decorating & Food

3-4 PM: Community Discussion and Call for collaborators to support a year long project to create a Memorial Quilt for those lost to the toxic drug crisis, inspired by the AIDS Memorial Quilt started in 1985. The intention of the memorial quilt is to create a physical manifestation of our grief from the deaths due to the toxic drug crisis & come together as an act of collective healing and action. You don't need to know how to sew to make something to express your love for those you've lost. Please join us in dreaming what this project could be.

4-5 PM: Speakers and ceremony of the tying of the purple ribbons to commemorate lost loved ones.

Let's Honour the dead, and fight like hell for the living!
