On World Blood Donor Day (June 14) Canadian Blood Services is inviting you to visit their donation centres to spotlight the need for new donors in the GTA and to celebrate their partnership with Uber Canada.

Uber Canada is offering a promo code (up to $25*) toward an Uber ride home from select donor centres across the region on June 14 and all eligible GTA residents are encouraged to participate. Donors can visit the CBS centres listed below to scan a QR code and receive the Uber promo code for their ride home (no donation required).

With over 1000 appointments available the goal for this partnership is simple: fill every donation appointment. The GTA is home to 5 million people yet only about 112000 regularly donate blood and more than 1900 appointments go unfilled each week.

This initiative is part of Canadian Blood Services’ ambitious goal to recruit one million new donors across Canada over the next five years part of which means reaching younger more ethnically diverse communities of potential donors—especially in and around Canada’s largest city.
