This two-part, 8-week course will cover the basics of wood carving and an introduction to plaster mold making for slip cast ceramics. You will learn the basic techniques involved in chisel carving a small wooden spoon, how to properly choose and use your carving tools and get a better understanding of wood grain. Using your finished wooden spoon as a model, you will then learn how to cast the carved spoon in porcelain by creating a two-piece plaster mold.

During this course you will be creating one small carved spoon and multiple ceramic variations of your spoon.
