OPERA WITH A PURPOSE
At the heart of Benevolence Opera Project is the belief that opera can do more than entertain: it can bring people together and create meaningful connections between the arts and the communities in which they are performed.
For this double-feature weekend, BOP and The Redwood Theatre will support YWCA, with a portion of proceeds from ticket sales and the event raffle benefiting the organization.
The partnership continues BOP’s model of pairing opera with community causes while presenting professional singers in intimate spaces that allow audiences to experience the immediacy, drama, humour, and power of the human voice up close.
WANT TO STEP ONTO THE OPERA STAGE?
For this production, audiences have the opportunity to become part of the action.
Anyone who purchases a ticket to Carmen or Rigoletto before October 12, 2026 will automatically be entered into a draw for the chance to appear as a super in one or both productions.
The winner will have the rare opportunity to step onto the Redwood Theatre stage alongside the professional cast and experience an opera production from the inside. No singing required — just a willingness to join the fun
Donations for the production can also be sent to ryan.hofman@hotmail.com or through the Redwood Theatre attention: Benevolence Opera Project
