Join Black Rabbit Gallery on Thursday, October 15, from 7–10 PM for the opening of Lately, the first solo exhibition of Toronto-based photographer Trung Hoang, and the launch of his photobook Lately: Zanzibar.

Bringing together ten photographs made across Toronto, Vietnam, Sicily, Jamaica, Six Nations and Zanzibar, Lately presents a practice developed over more than two decades. Rather than following a travel itinerary, the exhibition connects people and places through gesture, atmosphere and the moments that stay with us.

Born in Vietnam, Hoang spent part of his formative years in Toronto’s Regent Park. His photography developed alongside a career in music and culture as a magazine publisher, label executive and manager of Grammy- and JUNO-nominated artists.

The opening reception also marks the launch of Lately: Zanzibar, an independently published photobook by Hoang. Copies will be available to purchase.
