Toronto Poetry Festival 2026
Toronto Poetry Festival Sets Date for 2026 Celebration
The Toronto Poetry Festival has officially set its date for Saturday, September 12, 2026. The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering a full day of literary engagement.
The festival will once again convene in the open air at Taylor Creek Park (Spot#5, 260 Dawes Road, East York, ON M4C 5C4), providing a serene, natural amphitheater for the spoken word.
Launched in 2024, the festival has successfully established itself as an annual tradition, having completed two well-received iterations. It fosters a celebratory atmosphere by featuring a diverse ensemble of poets, including both English-language Canadian wordsmiths and multilingual artists presenting original work in their native tongues.
Building on this success, the 2026 program is slated for expansion. It will introduce new conceptual elements to complement its core offerings of original poetry readings and recitations, signalling a dynamic evolution of the event. The festival remains committed to accessibility, offering free admission to the public with no tickets required.
As a multilingual and multinational gathering, the Toronto Poetry Festival vividly illustrates Canada's cultural mosaic. Embodying Canadian values with a global sensibility, the event is cementing its place as an annual autumn tradition, set against the backdrop of the season's vibrant foliage. It is steadily garnering significant interest and popularity within the literary community.
