Thursday Night Curated DROM Sidestage : Juice Joint at DROM Taberna
It’s time to let the community curate ✨
Every second Thursday at Drom we will be welcoming some of the talented humans who make up our family to set the stage.
We’ve stayed hidden and cute in our little corner for many years, connecting with the incredible talent in our city, country, and the world. Whether it’s promoters, producers, festival organizers, established musicians, now we want to let some of our community heroes show us their faves.
On each of these magical nights a different panel of community members will take over the programming for the evening, putting together a set list of their favourite acts - and showcasing the best of what our music culture has to offer. They will be responsible for booking talent, we will stay responsible for doing what we do best: connecting people with one another through food, drinks and immaculate vibes.
We would love to have you for our soft launch on Thursday, April 10th.
Doors at 7PM, show at 8PM, mix and chat in between, event ends at 10PM.
Curated by Jonathan Campbell, Alfredo Caxaj and Ilinca Stafie, this very special first session will welcome JUICE JOINT.

🎶 THE BAND
Juice Joint is a seven-piece jazz-fusion and hip-hop band based in London, Ontario, that got its start working on a student recording project at Fanshawe College.
The group had immediate chemistry, which inspired bandleader Nathan Nykor to seize the opportunity and take it further, composing original instrumental music for the band in the same realm as Casiopea, Robert Glasper, and Jamiroquai. Since then, Juice Joint has played over 40 shows, including opening for Toronto-based jazz band, Moneka Arabic Jazz, neo-soul fusion band Bitter & Broke and accompanying R&B artist Eleanor Gebrou.
💕 THE CURATORS OF APRIL
Alfredo Caxaj is the father of Sunfest and a leading example in bringing the world to Ontario and making sure our ears are treated with sounds defying borders, genre and cultures. Sunfest is based in London, ON and has grown into “Canada’s Premier Celebration of World Cultures” with an annual attendance of more than 220,000. Since we've connected with Sunfest, their dedication has been a true inspiration for us with the same shared desire to spread multiculturalism and an appreciation that comes from enjoying it.
Jon Campbell - we know him from surreptitiously introducing us to many of you, and the more we get to know him, the more we wonder: what haven't you done? where haven't you already invested your love, care, talent and energy? Amongst many other involvements, the most important being building bridges between all of us, Jon has been involved with Aga Khan, Harbourfront, TIFF, Small World Music, Folk Alliance International and is the beautiful founder of Good Kind Productions & YGTwo Productions.
Ilinca Stafie is a Drom's administrative treasure and ensures that in the midst of chaos, artists and Drom staff know what to expect on a daily basis. Her level of professionalism impresses us every day, and the love and care she puts in Drom's backend has hugely improved the smooth flow of our place. Bidding adieu to her position at Drom in April, we wish her all the best with her various projects, one of a kind being the bandleader of Trash Panda Brass, a brass band that fills up a room with queer love anytime they play.
Together, they've curated your night for Thursday, April 10th with passion, seriousness and love - and we can't wait to see you there!
We're a Pay What You Can venue, tip musicians and support live music!
DROM is accessible and has accessible washrooms :)
