The Song Shul celebrates Neil Sedaka Shabbat
This Shabbat morning, the Song Shul proudly honours the memory of legendary Jewish singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka, a music icon and true friend of The Song Shul. Throughout the morning service, the melodies of Sedaka’s chart-topping hits will be incorporated into the prayers, evoking happy memories of such hits as Calendar Girl, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Laughter in the Rain and more.
The Song Shul’s renowned Cantor Simon Spiro and Aliza Spiro lead the Shabbat service with the a cappella Toronto Festival Singers, recognized as “the finest synagogue choir in North America.” Their custom-written a cappella vocal arrangements and signature blend enhance the musical prayers, offering a unique Shabbat experience.
This all-inclusive Shabbat service is spiritual, meaningful, uplifting, warm and welcoming. Whether you come alone or bring the whole family, (we especially welcome children), you’ll feel part of the service. Many new friendships have been formed at The Song Shul and we look forward to seeing you.
