Acting Coach Sophie Ann Rooney invites you to THE PERFORMANCE LAB shows SUNDAY MAY 3rd & MONDAY MAY 4th 8PM at 376 Dufferin Street - The Theatre Machine.
The actors will have coached with Sophie over eight weeks to bring family, friends, peers and industry a night filled of story-telling.

Sophie Ann Rooney Sophie Ann Rooney Acting Coach
One of Torontos top coaches Sophie Ann Rooney teaches the Strasberg method as well as influences from her years teaching and training in Europes most reputable establishments. Rooney was a teacher at Bilingual Acting Workshop New York & Paris, the American University of Paris and Lyric School of Acting in Vancouver. She trained directly under Lee Strasbergs protege Amy Werba for 4 consecutive years, assisting, teaching alongside Werba. Whilst living in Paris, Rooney trained in a full-time Stanislavski School LAtelier International de Theatre de Blanche Salant as well as with Valerie Landsburg, Larry Moss and Steppenwolfs Larry McGowan. In England trained at Central School of Speech & Drama and Oxford School of Speech & Drama.
Rooney is also an award winning filmmaker, her short film Fallen Fighter was picked up by Oscar Contender Chicago International Childrens Film Festival and went on to screen at over 20 film festivals around the world and won numerous awards including the Kodak award in Paris. Her film Bollywood Beckons was awarded Best Foreign Film in New York. Her feature film EASTER is in development with Producer Lauren Grant Clique Pictures Picture Day/Wet Bum and look out for the Webseries she is developing with Sterling to be shot in 2015.
Sterling Theatre Companys Co-Founding Artistic Director; Rooney has directed in Paris, Vancouver and most recently directed MACBETH which sold out every show, her other highlights have been Burn This, Cowboy Mouth, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea and the Pulitzer nominated play The Glory of Living by Rebecca Gilman in Toronto. She has produced 27plays and counting with Sterling in just over two years, giving over 100 artists a place to create and showcase their work.
A mother of two boys this artist is non-stop and continues to see success with her students booking and booking.
