The Next Chapter Film, Toronto World Premiere Screening & Live Panel Q&A

The Next Chapter has its Toronto world premiere on June 18 at The Royal Theatre, followed by a live post-screening panel discussion and audience Q&A.

The documentary explores healing, psilocybin-assisted therapy, and the human stories behind a rapidly growing conversation in Canada around mental health, access, and emerging treatment pathways. While the film follows people in the second half of life, the themes are much broader and relevant to anyone thinking about depression, grief, caregiving, healing, or how this conversation is evolving in public life.

What makes the evening especially compelling is that it is more than a screening. The post-film discussion is designed to carry the conversation beyond the movie itself, bringing together community voices, clinicians, lived-experience perspectives, and broader public interest in one room. Confirmed panel participants include filmmaker Scott Wright, Dr. Joshua Rosenblat of UHN, and Dr. Blake Pearson, whose family’s story was recently featured in national CBC coverage as part of Canada’s growing public conversation around psilocybin-assisted therapy.
