The Mummers Masque

Move over Handel, watch out Scrooge. Enjoy a glass of wine or Christmas grog and experience this rollicking alternative to your usual seasonal offerings; a celebration of the 400-year-old Newfoundland holiday tradition of mummering featuring music, dance and storytelling.

The historic Enoch Turner Schoolhouse is the perfect venue for this Christmas retelling of the adventures of St George, mummer-style, with an all-star jug band led from the fiddle by Larry Beckwith, step-dancers, a children’s choir, soprano Carla Huhtanen, mezzo Marion Newman, tenor Christopher Mayell and baritone Giles Tomkins.

TICKETS: $50 General; $43 (65 and over); $20 (30 and under): by phone 416-410-4561 or online from www.torontomasquetheatre.com
