The Hunger

Sucker for a good vampiric love triangle? Look beyond the Edward and Bella universe (sorry, Twilight) and turn to 1983’s The Hunger–a stylish, sleek, and polarizing adaptation of Whitley Strieber’s supernatural story. The film stars Bowie as John Blaylock, a doomed vampire dressed to the nines in runway-worthy gothic attire, whose love for his immortal partner Miriam (Catherine Deneuve) cannot outlast his unfortunate demise. Enter Susan Sarandon as a doctor specializing in sleep and aging, and you’ve got a delicious recipe for a chaotic romance that will have you hooked. Don’t be surprised if you come out of the cinema coveting fishnet gloves and black leather everything.

We Can Be Heroes: A Bowie Cinematic Experience: In what would have been his 75th year, we are celebrating music legend, Starman, & culture chameleon David Bowie with a curated selection of films he starred in, soundtracked and shaped.

Tickets: $15 (Members from $10)
