Toronto DVD launch party set for Tuesday, April 29th

Toronto, ON (April 11, 2014) – On April 29th, 2014, Matt Johnson's award-winning The Dirties will be released as a Limited Edition DVD/Blu-Ray Collectors Set. Johnson's dark comedy was the break-out hit of the 2013 Slamdance Film Festival, winning Best Narrative Feature and the Spirit of Slamdance Award, before going on to screen at over 25 international film festivals and collecting top prizes at Fantastic Fest, Sarasota and Dallas. The film was released theatrically and on VOD by Phase 4 Films and the Kevin Smith Movie Club in October 2013. The DVD package is being released independently.

To celebrate the release of the DVD, there will be a launch party on Tuesday, April 29th at the Rivoli (334 Queen St. W). Cover charge is $5 or $25 with a DVD. Doors at 8pm. The night will include Jay McCarrol (Nirvana the Band the Show) on piano, an action packed DVD “tour” by Matt Johnson and guest DJ Luke Lalonde (Born Ruffians). Plus raffles with giveaways of props and costumes from the film.

There are 6 different “classic movie” DVD cover parodies to choose from. Each limited edition disc is hand numbered and designed, authored and assembled, with love by the crew of The Dirties who said, “we're pretty sure these things are better than the movie.”
