It’s just a little ole bitty pissant country place known as the Chicken Ranch run by Miss Mona (Dolly Parton), and there ain’t nothin’ much to see. Some might say it was the nicest little whorehouse you ever saw. The locals love it, Mona is well respected, and Ed Earl Dodd (Burt Reynolds) is on their side. But Melvin P. Thorpe wants to use the power of television, of public exposure to shut the place down and has so much sway that he, “…could get the mayor’s own children to throw rocks at him!”

Many a song, including a heartfelt “I Will Always Love You”, and nothin’ to hide at all, will that save the Best Little Whorehouse that Texas has ever seen?

It’s foot-stompin’, rug-rompin’, sexy good fun. So, come on down and bring someone. There’s good times and trouble and fiery romance at the best little Texas Chicken Ranch. Y’all come down now to find out, ya hear?

Colin Higgins, director of 9 to 5, brings us some of Dolly Parton’s best in this campy, comedy romp musical. Where else are you going to get a Western, a musical, and more double entendres than you can shake a stick at all in one place?
