ABOUT CHEF JEAN REGIS

Jean landed in Toronto, Canada 7 years ago with one piece of luggage and a heart full of dreams. His culinary journey originated in the centre of France, where the traditional French cuisine formed his palate with a taste for locally sourced ingredients. He began his formal education in Paris working in various large establishments including Hotel Costes. During this time he acquired 3 diplomas in French cuisine and a certificate in gastronomic excellence. His path then led him to St Maarten, his first international experience. His work in London UK at Aubaine helped him adapt his French cooking to the British taste. And finally to Toronto where working for Le Paradis helped him understand the food culture of the city. His wish with Le Baratin is to share his passion of food and l’art de vivre, the art of life, in a French way.

ABOUT LE BARATIN

Voted Best French Restaurant in Toronto for 2018 by NOW Magazine, Le Baratin's goal is to make the French food experience approachable and affordable, while showcasing comforting classics that are too good to be reserved for special occasions. Cozy and casual, it serves up a menu of wholesome bistro fare, while avoiding the cliches associated with most French restaurants.

ABOUT MELYSSA ROSE

Born and raised in France, Mélyssa Rose moved to New York City at the age of thirty years old to pursue her dream of becoming a jazz singer. After one year in New York City where she performed in bars, French restaurants and jazz clubs, Mélyssa moved to Toronto. Specializing in French music from the 1950s, Mélyssa interprets and tells stories, uncovering the secrets of the songs in her repertoire. The singer also lends herself to American jazz standards, but always with a Parisian esthetic. Minuit a Paris
