Textiles of Resistance
A hands-on textile collage workshop with Ukrainian feminist artist Oksana Briukhovetska (@oksana_briukhovetska ).
Bring your cast-off florals, bright scraps, and rags, and transform them into a textile collage that speaks to courage, protest, and hope. Guided by Oksana, participants will work with fabric as a storytelling medium – whether responding to the war in Ukraine, other global injustices, or simply the need to create together.
The workshop includes a short talk on textiles as a form of resistance, drawing on Chilean arpilleras, Ukrainian embroidery, and African American quilting traditions. We’ll drink tea, share stories, and imagine futures shaped by care and solidarity.
You’re welcome to work on a solo piece or collaborate on a collective artwork 🤍
