Svāhā! On the Land is Nova Dance’s offering of arrival, reverence, and joy. Rooted in shared breath, rhythm, and celebration, this spectacular free, outdoor site-specific event culminates in a 30-minute powerful performance and a 25-minute open community dance party.

Choreographed by Nova Bhattacharya, the work features 9 exceptional dancers trained in Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Western contemporary, Bollywood, Latin, Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, and Filipino cultural dance joined by 15 next generation of movers from Citadel Dance Program and Abhinayakshetra Fine Arts Canada. Their vibrant presence strengthens intergenerational exchange, uplifts community voices, and deepens the impact of sharing movement.

Set to an electrifying soundscape by Ed Hanley, Svāhā! On the Land honours the land and invites audiences into a shared experience that transcends language and culture.
