Steeped in Craft: An Evening with Chef Eva Chin x Chatime
What happens when tea becomes the main ingredient instead of what’s poured into the cup?
For one night only, Chatime and award-winning Yan Dining Room are coming together for Steeped in Craft — an eight-course tasting experience that reimagines tea through contemporary Asian cuisine.
Hosted inside the intimate private dining room at Hong Shing, Chef Eva Chin will incorporate Chatime premium teas directly into each dish — from floral jasmine to smoky oolong and rich black teas — exploring how tea can shape flavour, aroma, texture, and storytelling throughout a meal.
Led by Chef Eva Chin, Yan Dining Room has quickly become one of Canada’s most celebrated new restaurants, earning recognition on Air Canada’s Best New Restaurants list, ranking #2 on Toronto Life’s Best New Restaurants of 2025, and securing a spot on Post City’s Chef-Approved 50 Best Restaurants.
Taking place during Asian Heritage Month, the 26-seat dinner marks a rare crossover between Canada’s bubble tea culture and Toronto’s fine dining scene, blending culinary creativity, modern Asian flavours, and cultural storytelling into one immersive evening.
