Standing with Clyde River Inuit: Rally at the Courthouse
The Inuit community of Clyde River are trying to use the court system to stop offshore oil and gas exploration in Baffin Bay and Davis Strait. Their request for an injunction against proposed seismic surveys will be heard on Monday, April 20 at the Federal Court of Appeal in Toronto, at 180 Queen Street West.
The Clyde River Solidarity Network is organizing a rally outside the courthouse at 12:00 noon to show we are standing behind Clyde River.

We request that members of the public who attend the demonstration remain peaceful, non-confrontational and relatively silent. We do not want to create a disturbance outside of the courthouse.
Members of the public are encouraged to bring signs, showing their support for Inuit rights. Suggested slogans include: No Oil Drilling Without Inuit Consent; No Means No!; I Support Inuit Rights.
Confrontational actions and loud disturbances may reflect negatively upon the community of Clyde River, and this is the last thing we want.
Supporters are also invited to bear witness to the hearing inside the courtroom, which begins at 9:30am and may last all day with breaks, at Suite 200 at 180 Queen Street West.
The Clyde River Solidarity Network is an alliance of advocacy organizations, formed in March 2015 to support the Inuit of Clyde River in their struggle against seismic surveys.
