Stacey Case ZINE LAUNCH for "punk rock fishing!" + Noble Savages and Broken Puppy. FREE TATTOO!?!

From 1993 to 1997, Stacey Case cut and pasted together a punk rock fanzine called Rivet. Thirteen issues. Broken Pencil called it one of the best zines to come out of Toronto. Then he stopped. Damned computers.

Twenty years later he's back where he left off, glue stick in hand, cut and pasting together a brand new zine detailing his latest obsession. Fishing!

Punk rock fishing, to be precise.

No money. No boat. Just passion. And believe me, he's passionate! From collecting vintage lures, to buying used books and learning everything he can about freshwater fishing in Canada, to hitting the shore all over Ontario and trying out noodle rods, fly fishing, baitcasting, spincasting and spinning, with gear mostly bought from flea markets, he's learning how to become a better fisherman.

Issue #1 features articles on ice fishing by contributors Tony Burgess Pontypool Changes Everything, Ryan Halpenny, and the publisher. Internationally renowned authority on everything, The Mouth, reviews some of the greatest songs about fishing ever recorded. New fishing phone apps specific to Ontario are reviewed. Readers will learn the importance of riffles, runs and pools. It's a lot of fishing fun crammed into 28 pages! Lots of classic clip art from vintage fishing mags too!

Punk rock fishing is launching SAT. NOV. 29 at the newly-renovated Rancho Relaxo 300 College Street. Special musical guests include garage punks the Noble Savages The most important band from Hamilton since Teenage Head - Matthew Schwartz, You Drive Me Ape fanzine and the debut of Broken Puppy:

Mangling up hooky pop, brute force, and a punkards wail with Atari games and the angst of 1000 unpaid interns. A bouncing baby power trio courtesy of Jonathan Culp Opera Arcana, David Bertrand ex-Sacral Nerves, and Pam Sloan your ex-girlfriend.

All this for a mere $4!

BUT WAIT! It gets better!

Not only do you get a free copy of punk rock fishing, and not one but TWO amazing bands performing, you also get an opportunity to win PRIZES! Stacey Case has been putting aside vintage lures for months just for this zine launch. TO GIVE AWAY. Heddon River Runts! Injured Minnows! Poppers AND MORE!

And finally, Wes Dix from Arrowhead Tattoo Studio is giving away a FREE FISHING TATTOO.

All for four dollars!

Now THAT'S punk rock...see you at the show!
