Space for Grief
This acclaimed immersive public art installation invites visitors into a contemplative journey through loss, love, and renewal. Blending art, design, and systems research, the installation transforms the site into a landscape where grief is not hidden but held with care. Throughout the space, organic materials like flowers shift and decay over time, reminding visitors of the natural cycles of change and renewal. Visitors move through three spaces: the Museum of Grief, where stories and artifacts of remembrance gather; the Memory Garden, a living archive where visitors leave written messages; and the Reflection Space, where light, sound, and shared presence offer quiet restoration. Created by Method Collective artists Ziyan Hossain, Calla Lee, and Fran Quintero Rawlings, Space for Grief reframes grief as a universal act of belonging and tenderness. Launching with Evergreen’s Good Mourning Festival.
