Social Uniforms uses the concept of “uniforms” to explore and challenge the way people see themselves and others. We believe in creating positive uniforms that nurtures deeper connections within communities.

The (Un) Common Threads embroidery workshop explores the concepts of personal narrative and how that can be translated through clothes. In the (Un) Common Threads workshop, participants will create a Scarborough uniform that narrates their personal Scarborough stories. This will be done through embroidering their personal narrative on the same colour shirt with the same colour thread. By the end of this session, participants will learn that even though their stories are different, there is still a common thread, connection and uniformity, between them all.
