Little Terrors is now in its 4th year/season! Come check out a monthly showcase of horror short films! Hosted at MAGIC LANTERN CARLTON CINEMA, enjoy two full hours of the craziest, goriest, most-disturbing and off-the-wall short films the genre has to offer! The poster this month features hand-drawn artwork from Darryl Shaw. The program includes several highlights from Toronto After Dark and Blood in the Snow film festivals, plus more. They will play in a different order than what is listed.


Here's this month's outstanding lineup:

The Monitor (5 minutes)

DIR: Jay Clarke

Threatened by a terrifying voice coming from her baby monitor, a young mother must take drastic steps to protect those she loves. From LT-alumnus director Clarke (Orange, Lively). Previous selection of Toronto After Dark.

Dead Hearts (17 minutes)

DIR: Stephen W. Martin

A young mortician will give his heart away to find true love. Ambitious, twisted, yet somehow whimsical, this is a must watch. Or re-watch. Previous selection of Toronto After Dark and numerous other festivals.

Serpent's Lullaby (13 minutes)

DIR: Patricia Chica

In this gorgeously shot story, a reclusive woman holds the secret to a series of mysterious child disappearances in a small community. From LT-alumnus director Chica (Ceramic Tango). Previous selection of Blood in the Snow and several others.

Foxed! (5 minutes)

DIR: James E.D. Stewart, Nev Bezaire

A young woman is kidnapped by foxes and forced to work in a secret underground mine. In this impressive stop-motion tale, she must use her determination to get back home. Previous selection of Toronto After Dark. Recently optioned as a feature by frequent Cronenberg collaborator Martin Katz.

Little Matthew (19 minutes)

DIR: Andrew A. Appelle

A private investigator is offered a morally conflicting job regarding the abduction of a child. Creepy short was a previous selection of Toronto After Dark.

Lazy Boyz (20 minutes)

DIR: Ryan Coopersmith, Charles Muzard

Two slackers discover their new couch may house an unstoppable evil. Hilarious previous selection of Toronto After Dark.

The Grey Matter (18 minutes)

DIR: Luke McCoubrey, Peter McCoubrey

After waking up in an alleyway, covered in blood, an officer worker attempts to strike up a romance with a co-worker. Surreal, gory, with some interesting monster work.

The Crimson Thread (2 minutes)

DIR: Nate Wilson

Anna cannot escape true love and the strings that attach her to her soul mate. Impressive short from local wunderkind, and LT-alumnus Wilson (Glow). Winner of Bruce McDonald's Hellions Horror Short contest.

Rat Tail (3 minutes)

DIR: Adam R Brown

A couple's pranks escalate quickly.

Damned Selfie (6 minutes)

DIR: Justin McConnell

A young woman is losing patience while waiting for a meeting, but things may not be what they seem. Directed by LT-founder McConnell (Ending the Eternal, Eviction). Previous selection of Blood in the Snow.
